Juan Tomás de la Molía

Juan Tomás was born in Trebujena, Cádiz. At the age of 6 he begins his training at “Peña Los Cernícalos” in Jerez de la Frontera.

In 2009 he joins José Galván’s academy in Seville. That same year, he takes part in the show “En Clave de Sol” where he performed among artists the likes of David Torantes, Gerardo Núñez, Javier Barón, and Carmen Linares.

In the year 2013, Juan Tomás is casted as dancer for the first edition of Spanish TV show “Se Llama Copla Junior”. Later that year he receives one on one training from Farruquito.

Juan Tomás scored a flamenco scholarship in 2014, that allowed him to receive coaching from Javier Barón and Milagros Mengíbar at the “Fundación Sevillana Cristina Heeren”.

In 2016, he would begin performing among the great artists of “La Banda Morisca”, and goes on tour with them a year later through France, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland and the U.S.A (2018).

Along his professional career Juan Tomás has furthered his education and training with maestros such as Javier Barón, Milagros Mengíbar, El Choro, Rubén Olmo, Rafael Campallo, Fernando Jiménez, and Luisa Palicio among other professionals.

Amid his awards and accolades we must mention: second place (2016) and first place (2019) at the Andalusian Contest for Flamenco Youth from the “Peñas Flamencas de Sevilla Federation”; first place at the International Dance Contest of “Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco – Manolo Soler” in 2018; first place at “Concurso Flamenco Puro” at Jerez Festival (2020).

Nowadays Juan Tomás performs at some of Seville’s most prestigious tablaos such as La Casa del Flamenco and Teatro Flamenco Triana.
