Javier Rivera

Born in Seville, he lived and breathed flamenco at home from an early age. His career began after taking part in several contests and festivals around Andalucía.

In the year 2000, Fundación Cristina Heeren granted Javier a scholarship. He was taught by some of the greatest, such as Naranjito de Triana, José de la Tomasa and Calixto Sánchez among others. Shortly after he started teaching at the same foundation, doing so while performing at some of the best tablaos in the Sevillian flamenco scene.

His vast experience in cante as accompaniment to dance has led him to sing alongside renowned artists such as Rafael, Adela Campallo, PastoraGalván, Javier Barón, and Isabel Bayón among many others. Javier Rivera is no stranger to the bigger stages, as he´s performed at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, Festival de Jerez, and other festivals such as Nîmes or Mont de Marsan.

As a teacher and mentor, he´s also taught at the “Cristóbal de Morales” conservatory, in Seville.
