This talented guitarist, grandnephew of Melchor de Marchena, one of the most representative artists of the so-called “toque gitano”, was born in Seville in 1978, where he started playing the guitar at the age of 9 together with his two older brothers, Miguel and Eugenio Iglesias.
Throughout his professional career, he has been part of several companies, such as Manuela Carrasco’s in 1996, or the Andalusian Ballet in 1997 with which he performed the play “Golpes de la Vida”. In the year 2000 she joined Cristina Hoyos’ company, participating in the shows “Al Compás” and “Tierra Adentro”.
His most prolific year was 2004, when he toured with the famous dancer Antonio Canales with the shows “Bailaor”, “Bohemio”, “Ojos Verdes” and “Sangre de Edipo”, among others. Also this year, he participated in the 2004 Youth Biennial held in the Plaza de América, Seville.
In 2008 he worked in Farru’s company, and in the show dedicated to Frida Khalo that Amador Rojas premiered in the Villamarta Theatre.
He has accompanied flamenco dance stars such as Rafael de Carmen, Joaquín Grilo, Carmelilla Montoya, “La Farruca” and Angelita Vargas, among others. He has sung to artists such as Carmen Montoya, La Susi and Chano Lobato.
He presented his new show “Iglesias” with his brothers Eugenio and Miguel Iglesias at the Bienal de Sevilla 2012.
