David Romero was born in Barcelona, where he kickstarted his career among some of the city’s most prestigious tablaos such as “Carmen Amaya”, “Los Tarantos” or “El Cordobés”. Later on he would find himself in Madrid at “Las Carboneras”.
Romero has worked with numerous companies, such as those of Juan Andrés Mata, the guitarist Paco Peña, Rafael Amargo, Joaquín Cortés, Juan de Juan and Antonio Canales´. He’s taken part in works such as “Torero”, “Bernarda Alba”, “Bailaor” and “Minotauro”; which was presented at the Lope De Vega Theatre during the Bienal De Sevilla.
Among his awards we’d like to highlight the “Carmen Amaya” honor award to the most complete bailaor, at the Jóvenes Valores de L’Hospitalet Contest; as well as the “Desplante” prize at the Festival de Cante de las Minas (2022). His prowess has been duly recognized at the XIX Concurso Nacional de baile Flamenco, in Córdoba.
David has worked alongside the acclaimed guitarist Chicuelo, as well as the cantaor Duquende during an homage show to Camarón in 2012: Una Leyenda del Tiempo.
He has toured the world with his own company, performing an array of different projects like “Paso a Paso”, “Flamenco unipersonal”, “Flamenco forever”, “Flamenco en 2 Orillas”, or “Sal y Romero” among others.
