Joselito Acedo is a guitarist, composer, producer, and musical director born in the Triana neighborhood of Seville. He trained from childhood under his father, guitarist José Acedo, and his uncle, Rafael Riqueni—a foundation that marked the beginning of a distinguished career in flamenco.
Throughout his career, he has accompanied major figures such as Lole Montoya, Remedios Amaya, Manuel Molina, La Susi, Antonia “La Negra,” La Tremendita, and Rosalía—for whom he created the musical arrangements for the song “Juro Que.” He has also produced albums for artists like Rafael Riqueni, Carmelilla Montoya, and Alba Molina, in addition to composing music for various flamenco dance productions.
In 2015, he released his debut album, “Andando”, which earned nominations for both the Latin Grammy Awards and the MIN Awards. He subsequently released “Triana D.F. (Distrito Flamenco)”, a work dedicated to his native neighborhood.
Recognized as one of the most outstanding guitarists in contemporary flamenco, Joselito Acedo blends respect for tradition with an innovative and personal style. His mastery of accompaniment for both singing and dance, combined with his work as a concert soloist, has allowed him to forge a unique artistic identity and perform at festivals and venues across Spain and around the world.
His approach to the guitar transcends mere accompaniment, making the instrument an essential element for conveying emotion, driving the rhythm, and enriching every performance. Thanks to his technique, sensitivity, and creativity, he has established himself as a key figure in the evolution of the contemporary flamenco guitar.
